We’ve got everything covered in the capital – studios North, East, South and West for all projects and budgets.
Of course with all of our many recording studios in London comes a fantastic array of recording and mixing consoles: the highest-end Neve and SSL desks; rare, vintage boards with rich histories of their own; as well as some great desks for writing and smaller scale projects, such as the acclaimed Audient series of consoles.
Here we are giving you a rundown of 20 different consoles we provide across 20 London recording studios…
123 Studios in Shoreditch, London offers this SSL X desk with the SSL X-panda desk expansion.
The Audient ASP 8024 Console at Arcadium Writing and Production studio in West London.
Assault & Battery 1‘s world class SSL SL407 G Series console has 72 channels with G+ computer and Ultimation (24 E-channels, 44 G-channels and 4 stereo channels). It has been used by Alan Moulder and Flood to mix countless huge records by the likes of Foals, Killers, Nine Inch Nails, Arctic Monkeys, White Lies and many more.
The Neve VR60 at Assault and Battery 2 recording studio in London has 60 channels, Flying Faders, Total Recall and Events Automation.
The Bridge Writing Studio in London, SE1 boasts this great Audient ASP4816 console in its luxurious control room.
We have an Audient Zen 16MPMF with Mic Pre’s and moving faders in The Bunker programming studio in London’s Bermondsey. A great little desk for the smaller space.
There is another Audient Zen 16MPMF in The Cabin writing and recording studio in North London (Kings Cross).
This SSL 4056G+ console in The Engine Room mixing studio in London used to live at the legendary but now defunct Olympic Studios.
Ilkatron Studios in Clapham boasts this very rare Sphere Eclipse C 32-Channel 32-Bus inline console. Beaut!
A recording studio on a boat, Lightship95 recently acquired this great API 1608 console.
The stunning SSL AL4072 G series 72 Channel console with Ultimation at Livingston Studio 1 in North London. It has 16 Black EQs, 8 Orange EQs, 8 Brown EQs and the rest are G-series EQs.
Musikbox writing and mixing studio in Kentish Town has this pristine Neve VR60 console.
This is the Neve 5305 24 Channel console based at Perry Vale Studios in South East London. Hard to come by these days…
Producer Ben Hillier picked up this rare EMT A100 30 Channel desk in Germany and drove it back to The Pool recording studio in London where it now resides.
Legendary producer Hugh Padgham has long been associated with SSL, so it makes perfect sense for this beautiful SSL 4064G+ 64 channel console to live at his Sofa Sound recording studio in West London.
The less common SSL 4044 E Series console at Soho Sound Kitchen, a new 5.1 recording studio based in Kings Cross, London.
The original Miloco studio in Hoxton, The Square has had many desks over the years. It currently houses one of the early Olympic Studios SSL G Series desks.
A real gem – the vintage Neve 8026 console at producer Craig silvey’s Toast Studios in Ladbroke Grove, West London. It contains 24 vintage Neve Mic Pre’s/EQs and has recorded the likes of Nirvana, Neil Young and REM in its long history.
They pop up all over Miloco’s London recording studios, mainly because they are so darn popular! Here’s another SSL 4048 G Series console with G+ computer which lives at Westpoint Studios in West London.
Lastly, something completely different – the Digidesign C24 Control Surface at The Yard, a specialist Live Mixing Studio in Highbury run in partnership between Miloco and DMZ Live.

Christmas has come early over at The Square in Hoxton…
We have just rolled a beautiful Feurich Model 122 “Universal” Upright Piano into the original Miloco recording studio in East London.
As its name suggests, this stunning piano is designed for players from all genres; classical to jazz to rock and more.
This award-winning piano has such a strong and rich tone that some pianists have gone on record saying it even out-performs many baby grands. Originally launched in 2003, Feurich redeveloped the 122 “Universal” range in 2010/11 to enhance its sound quality even further, so we are delighted to now be offering one to our clients. Why don’t you head on over there to check it out…. www.miloco.co.uk/square.
Merry Christmas from Miloco to all you pianists, and everyone else too!

Last week we were very excited to see the 2014 Music Producers Guild (MPG) Awards shortlists revealed, and what a showing we have here at Miloco! The studios have been involved in no less than eight nominations across a number of different categories, which signals a brilliant year of music-making we’ve had in 2013.
First up, a hugely deserved shout for UK Producer of the Year for the esteemed pairing of Flood and Alan Moulder, who of course produced Foals’ Mercury-nominated Holy Fire. The album, which was recorded in Assault and Battery 2 and mixed in Assault and Battery 1, has gone from strength-to-strength since its release earlier in the year, and has been the catalyst for many Miloco-related nominations at the forthcoming MPGs. Flood and Alan are also in the running for Mix Engineer of The Year due to their staggeringly good mixes on Holy Fire; engineer Catherine Marks has doubled her chances of success by being nominated for both Recording Engineer of the Year and Breakthrough Engineer of the Year; while the album itself has been nominated for UK Album of the Year and UK Single Song Release of the Year for the track ‘My Number’. A massive congratulations to Foals, Flood, Alan and Catherine and best of luck to you all on the night.
This year has also been a huge one for engineer Matt Wiggins, who we represent on the Gotham Producers roster. Over the past 12 months, Matt’s excellent work with producer Paul Epworth has elevated him to the status as one of the UK’s most in-demand young engineers, and this has been recognised by a nomination for the Breakthrough Engineer of the Year award. Along with many other Epworth productions, including material from Paul McCartney’s New album, Matt was of course on recording duties for Adele’s Oscar-winning single, ‘Skyfall’, which will be hoping for yet more success in the MPG UK Single Song Release of the Year category.
Lastly, on the studio front if we were voting we would go for RAK Studios for the UK Studio of the Year award – an amazing studio with years of heritage that has recorded hit after hit. The other studios are great too but we would love to see RAK win it this year. Just saying!
That’s that. Over to the judges! Best of luck to all the nominees on the night, and we’ll look forward to seeing you all on February 13.

The EP features their lead single, Care, which was written at Miloco’s Osea Island and recorded at The Pool. They enjoyed their time there so much, it led to them naming the EP after their experience on the island.
