Foals have spoken to Q Magazine about working on their fourth album, which was recorded at La Fabrique, a French residential studio in the Miloco directory.

Spending two months in the south of France was “really fucking nice,” notes guitarist Jimmy Smith. “We drank about 130 bottles of this red wine called Ardèche.”

Bandmaster Powerhouse sample pack available

Posted on June 4, 2015 by Georgie Koch

Until recently, there was no sample pack for very rare drum machine Bandmaster Powerhouse, so producer Dan Radclyffe decided to make one.

Dan compiled the ‘Powerhouse Breaks’ library from the best fidelity machine/cartridge combination out of the two machines he had at studio Lion Aboard (before he sold one to a museum in Philadelphia).

‘Powerhouse Breaks’ has 64 awesome drum loops on 8x8track cartridges. All 64 complete loops (each one is 1-2 minutes long) come in a variety of different styles.

Gotye was one of the first people to buy a copy of the pack, which is seemingly of particular appeal to film composers. Even composer Vangelis used to have a Powerhouse.

‘Powerhouse Breaks’ is available at www.bandmasterpowerhouse.com for £19.99.
