An initial batch of killer guitar pedals has been put in Livingston Studio 1.
The models at the studio so far make up a pretty tasty selection of pedals, including lots of cool vintage items from BOSS, Dunlop, Electro-Harmonix, Lovetone and Musitronics.

Dan compiled the ‘Powerhouse Breaks’ library from the best fidelity machine/cartridge combination out of the two machines he had at studio Lion Aboard (before he sold one to a museum in Philadelphia).
‘Powerhouse Breaks’ has 64 awesome drum loops on 8x8track cartridges. All 64 complete loops (each one is 1-2 minutes long) come in a variety of different styles.
Gotye was one of the first people to buy a copy of the pack, which is seemingly of particular appeal to film composers. Even composer Vangelis used to have a Powerhouse.

The Pool has just updated its Avid Pro Tools equipment to HDX with an HD I/O interface and Pro Tools 11.

The programming and writing studio, part of Shoreditch complex The Premises, was designed by writer/producer/engineer Alex ‘Cores’ Hayes, and has a naturally-lit control room and a vocal booth equipped with remote DAW control. You can kick everyone out of the control room and use the screen and keyboard to operate the DAW yourself!
Some of the gear highlights include the much sought-after Sony C800G microphone, a Neve 1073DPA, a UA 1176LN and a Lavry Blue AD/DA converter. A 36-fader Avid control surface provides control over the Pro Tools HD 10/11 and Logic Pro 9/X DAWs. These are complemented by a great selection of FX and instrument plugins.

North-west London recording studio Assault & Battery 2 has updated its Avid Pro Tools equipment.
The upgrades to the Willesden facility include one HDX PCIe card and three HD I/O audio interfaces.
Assault & Battery Studios is the home of producers Flood and Alan Moulder.
Neve recording and mix studio Assault & Battery 2 is tracking heaven. Enhancing the spec further is Alan and Flood’s outstanding selection of microphones, mic amps and outboard, plus an arsenal of backline comprising a beautiful collection of guitars, amps and pedals.

About the location
Lake Malvik is located in the village of Runemo in idyllic northern Sweden. Nestled in the tranquil pine forests, the studio has been built in a large detached farmhouse featuring three luxurious guest bedrooms that provide the accommodation for Malvik’s visitors.
Only two hours from Stockholm, Runemo is home to everything that characterises Sweden – mountains, sea, archipelagos, lakes, rivers, forests and wilderness, with its own distinct character and picturesque countryside.

The studio comprises of a huge naturally lit control room, live room plus some rather unique recording spaces across its three floors. A vast array of equipment and instruments from the usual to the not so usual are also at hand. Everything about Lake Malvik was conceived with the inspiration of the writing process in mind.
Ideas will never be short in this wonderful creative space.
About the course
The Guitar Improvers programme (17-21 August 2015 and 24-28 August 2015) is delivered as a five-day break designed to help participants improve practical ability and gain a better understanding of theory concepts in a fun, relaxing and inspiring environment at the prestigious venue in Malvik, Sweden.
This is also a great opportunity to meet like-minded individuals and make new friends!
